Writing in a Dutch Oven

Started the day with a 9 km long ride on the BMX. Time to become fit again after being knocked out by an ET infection. I knew it would get warm today, but I forgot how 30+ feels like here in this subtropical city, also known as BrisVegas. I managed to finish a draft for an online publication, but not sure if I’ll be able to finish it tonight. This sweltering humidity is just too much. Even local Brisbanites complain about this heat.

At least I’m getting back into writing again – routinely. But it’s somewhat of a nightmare. I can notice it’s been too long since I’ve written anything longer than 200+ words.

Fuck this! It’s to damn warm to continue this post…
I need something cold.

Occupy Parks Tour

It’s summer in Brisbane and my tiny desk fan is on all day. I’m being cooked alive. But so are Occupy Brisbane. Musgrave Park was apparently too warm for them, so they have moved to Orleigh Park. Seems more like an Occupy Parks movement — or is it a Park Tour?

I might head down to their GA later today, just to have a gander— as a journo —to see if they will be staying or if Brisbane City Council will tell them to ‘sod off!’

Tonight I’ll be cooling down at a cinema, watching Polisse @ BIFF. Tomorrow I’ll see my last BIFF film, Beauty.
