History is interesting; to learn about and to learn from. To know what was done wrong in the past and that it’s preferable to avoid doing it again and again and again. Some of the topics I’ve been learning about at school have all been very interesting, but I’m over writing about them. IT’s not fun anymore. I get it and want to move on — now!
Which is why I will mostly turn of my alarm tomorrow at 8am in the morning. No worries — no regrets. Instead I might do something I actually find enjoying; something that will shape who I am and who I will be. Work on one of my columns for the Westender.
As I said, I find history very interesting, but not to write about. That is not what I want to do for a living. As a journalist I hope to be part of changing history. Not writing about it, but writing it — creating history.
