My last update became a bit more thinky than I had planned. Which is what I’ve probably been doing most of the time, when noting stressing around, sorting things out.
This holiday hasn’t really turned out as I expected it. Too busy doing other things, which also needed to be done, but not doing enough of what I should’ve done.
In other words, I spent too much on what can be referred to administrative crap.
What I should’ve been doing is spending more time writing columns and finishing my letter-of-interest, which I will hopefully be sending out next week.
I was not being selfish enough. Being too slack on making a point that even if I get to do a few things, even if they are pro bono, it’s one step closer to a paid gig.
Next holiday I will at least try to spend six to eight hours a day writing. Regardless of “what needs to be done”. Because when my portfolio is good enough and I stand there with a degree in my hand, I will be doing more hours a day and won’t have time for all that admin stuff.
What is done is done. All I can do is learn from it.
